Motherhood is a universal theme. Many artists throughout the centuries have painted their own version of this unique relationship. I found myself, one day, making my contribution to this genre.

I am a West Coast Canadian artist currently living in the Parksville area of Vancouver Island. Many of my paintings are inspired by life here with its profusion of birds, gardens, forests, wildlife and the ocean. Others are inspired by a combination of thoughts and memories, stories, travel, and my imagination. I work mainly with Oil Pastels. They allow me the freedom to combine line and color, and therefore serve as a drawing and a painting medium. I studied art at the University of Alberta and received both my BFA and B Ed. from that institution. I have enjoyed doing the works that you see displayed, and hope that they also bring you pleasure.
